Mercedes and Zaruhi

AWWA Sponsors Armenian Cultural Foundation Event on April 28th, 2024

February 13, 2024

The Armenian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) is proud to sponsor Mercedes and Zaruhi, a theatrical performance hosted by the Armenian Cultural Foundation.

This play explores the theme of repatriation to Soviet Armenia from the 1940s to the early 1990s through a series of letters between two sisters. Mercedes and Zaruhi was originally written in Armenian by playwright Anush Aslibekyan, who first created the story in 2012 and then turned it into a full play and subsequently a monologue. This English adaption will be performed by Nora Armani. You can read more about the play’s history and plot in this article by Armenian Weekly.

Please join us in supporting a memorable evening at the theater on Sunday, April 28th, at 4:00pm. The play will take place at the Armenian Cultural Foundation, located at 441 Mystic St. (Route 3), in Arlington, MA. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased by emailing or by calling 781-646-3090 between 10am and 2pm daily.
